Studio Groei was founded in 2024 by Joey Giljam and Niels van der Werf. We build digital products with founders as committed as we are — not as an agency billing hours, but as a partner with skin in the game.

The story

Why we started Studio Groei.

We've spent years in agencies, scale-ups, and our own products. What we kept seeing: the best ideas don't stall because of a lack of ambition, but because there isn't a technical partner who thinks at the product level.

Founders deserve more than an hourly invoice relationship. So we invest build time — design and development — in products we believe in. Equity partnerships where they fit, retainers where they're smarter. Always for the long haul.

AI isn't a marketing story for us — it's daily gear. We build faster because we know our own tools inside out, and we ship products where AI is part of the architecture from day one, not a feature bolted on later.

Design Lead & Co-founder

Joey Giljam

Joey is the visual force behind Studio Groei. With over ten years in branding, UI/UX and design strategy, he makes sure products don't just function — they feel right. Previously worked with scale-ups in finance, e-commerce and SaaS.

Tech Lead & Co-founder

Niels van der Werf

Niels builds the tech. Full-stack engineer focused on TypeScript, Next.js and AI integrations. Shipped multiple SaaS platforms and marketplaces from scratch, and believes great software is as much design as it is code.

Time tracking, progress, decisions, pricing. Nothing hidden behind consultancy language. A weekly demo says more than a ten-page report.

We choose technology based on what works for your problem, not what's trending on HackerNews. Boring tech is often the right answer.

Honest about what we don't do

No native mobile apps, no WordPress, no 'we could give it a shot' projects. A good referral beats a mediocre engagement.
